The Food Freedom Farm is a 30’x60’ plot at the UW-Extension Kohl Farm Community Garden. Scattered with light vegetation, we smothered it in cardboard and wood chips, and then tarped the front half for 2025 spring planting of native plants, and spread finished compost on the back half where we planted about 500 cloves of garlic for our local food business partnerships with Yadeem’s On the Go and Kuumba Juice and Coffee. The tarped area will be used for winter sowing the new nursery crop, which will be used for installations throughout 2025. There will also be a storage/shade shed, a 3-bin compost system, and an underground worm composting farm!
