Piercetown Community Garden
Located behind Riverwest Grown in Riverwest, this lot was an ecologically dead zone, full of invasive trees and plants and littered with broken glass. We started out with just a community compost system, but when the owner gave us carte blanche to the whole lot, we created a native plant nursery, removed the plants and trees, covered it in cardboard and wood chips, planted native plugs, shrubs and trees, and installed two raised garden beds.
